Coming of Age Poster Draft
3.11.16Coming of Age, in essence, is supposed to mean the transition from one's adolescence to adulthood. With this poster, I tried going with the "yin-yang" approach. The left half is corrupted, it's flowers blue; it's theme generally quite dark. The right is pure, it's flowers true colors are presented, and it's theme is a lighter and "happier" than it's counterpart.

I like the flower in the corner with a petal flying away. It looks really artsy. Also, I like the blue smoke in the top left. It gives it that dark feeling. I see that you made the left side dark and the right side light. Also, I like how you made the important words bigger in your quote. Overall, very pleasing to the eye and the more I look at it the more I think of deeper meanings.
ReplyDeleteI really like your graphic, since it shows the meaning of it, portraying it in an aesthetically pleasing way. It took me a while to figure out what it meant, but overall I think you did a really good job :)

ReplyDeleteI liked your portrayal of yin and yang with the use of the different flowers. Also, nice incorporation with using two pictures of yourself. It is hard to see the connection between your essay and your graphic. Your coming of age experience with your step brother needs to be more explicit. I really like the creativity of your graphic and I think there are minimal adjustments you could make.
